The General Chapter, held every six years, is the official legislative body of the congregation. All professed members of the congregation have the opportunity to be delegates to the General Chapter.
At the General Chapter of 2008 the congregation’s Mission was given expression in a strong commitment statement:
In our personal, communal and public life, we commit to ongoing conversion as we:
- deepen our relationship with Mother Earth and Sister Water
- stand with persons who are poor
- make peace and practice non-violence
This is who we are; this is what the global community can expect of us.
**The next Chapter will be held in 2014.
