The Canticle of Creation Center (CoCC), a ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis, will network with a diverse group of community members who share a common passion for climate change, agriculture, food insecurity, and addressing racism in a six part series titled, “Hope + Harvest.”

The focus of this network is to connect and collaborate to find common ground and gather bi-monthly to discuss relevant issues around these areas.

Part 1 of the Hope and Harvest Agriculture Series begins on Wednesday, November 3, to view the Sustainable documentary. This film dives deep into a vital investigation of America’s food system’s economic and environmental instability, from the agricultural issues we face — soil loss, water depletion, climate change, pesticide use — to the community of leaders who are determined to fix it.  Sustainable is a film about the land, the people who work it, and what must be done to sustain it for future generations.

Sustainable travels the country seeking leadership and wisdom from some of the most forward-thinking farmers like Bill Niman, Klaas Martens, and John Kempf – heroes who challenge the ethical decisions behind industrial agriculture. It is a story of hope and transformation, about passion for the land and a promise that it can be restored to once again sustain us.

This event will take place at the Sisters of St. Francis, Canticle of Creation Center located at 3390 Windsor Ave., Dubuque. Please park behind the Francis building and follow the signs to enter.  Masks are required.
