Canticle of Creation Centers Offers Wellness Series

The Dubuque Franciscans’ Canticle of Creation Center is presenting a series of seven virtual programs about spiritual and emotional wellness beginning on Monday, March 22.  The series’ co-sponsors are the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, Lutheran Services in Iowa, Inc. of Dubuque, and Crescent Community Health Center.  All events are from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Zoom:

  • Monday, March 22, presenter Philip Chard will speak about healing and mindfulness.
  • Monday, April 26, Beth Norcross will present on the essential way of knowing God and hope in nature and the presence of God in the natural world.
  • Wednesday, May 5, presenters Jane Heiar, Julie Tebbe, Sister Anna Trang Mai, IHM, Rabbi Natalie Louise Shribman, Rabbi Benjamin Altshuler, will discuss how spiritual wellness acknowledges our search for deeper meaning in life.
  • Tuesday, May 11, Richard Louv, author of “Last Child in the Woods,” will explore how direct exposure to nature is essential for healthy childhood development and for both children and adults’ physical and emotional health.
  • Tuesday, May 18, Crescent Community Health Center will feature a panel of presenters on brain health.
  • Monday, May 24, providers from Crescent Community Health Center and Dubuque Franciscan Sisters.
  • Monday, June 7, presenter Philip Chard will explore connecting with nature.
