Common Venture Program Seeks Volunteers

AnnaManternach

The Sisters of St. Francis’ Common Venture program is seeking volunteers for 10 of its summer service sites in Dubuque and around the United States beginning at the end of May.

Volunteer opportunities range from tutoring children to hand harvesting corn on an Indian reservation.  The 2015 Common Venture sites include Dubuque; Minneapolis; Winnebago, Neb.; Ames, Iowa; South Bend, Ind.; Busby, Mont.; Chicago; San Antonio; and Morton and Okolona, Miss.

Franciscan Common Venture is a volunteer program that provides the opportunity for men and women 20 years and older to contribute their time, talents, and commitment in service among people who are poor.  Volunteers are asked to contribute a stipend to help cover food and housing costs and are also responsible for their own costs traveling to and from the volunteer sites.

For more information about the service opportunities and sites and how to apply, visit our Common Venture Webpage or contact Common Venture Coordinator Michelle Balek, OSF at balekm@osfdbq.org or (563) 583-9786.
