Shalom Spirituality Center Celebrates 35 Years

Jan 8, 2024

Shalom Spirituality Center celebrated its 35th anniversary on January 4, 2024.

Sisters, associates, donors, volunteers, staff, and friends gathered at Shalom to mark the occasion with a blessing by Dubuque Archbishop Thomas Zinkula and a new video that featured the words of Shalom’s foundress, the late Sister Marie Therese Kalb: “We need ‘holy places’ — God spaces–peaceful environments. We need to be reminded down deep–that we hunger for hope, inspiration – for God’s voice calling us to fullness of life! To me, that’s the role and the challenge of a retreat center!”

The center was established in 1989.
