Sister Ruth Shock received the Spiritus Franciscanus Award at the annual Honors Convocation ceremony at Briar Cliff University (BCU), in Sioux City, Iowa, on Thursday, May 2.

The award is presented to the faculty, staff, administrator, or student who imitates and reflects the values and lives of Saint Francis and Saint Clare.

“I am very touched by receiving this award and grateful to have been able to make a difference in my years of service,” said Sister Ruth, who is an Associate Professor of Education at BCU.

“We can only imagine the hundreds, if not thousands, of people on and off Briar Cliff’s Campus who have been and will continue to be impacted by the amazing programs that would not have started without her thinking and determination to see them through,” said the announcement at the ceremony.
