Sister Water Project Committee Creates Summer Calendar

SWP Calendar

According to Living Water International, 1.1 billion of the poorest people in our world lack safe drinking water. Being aware of the needs in our world, and acting on those needs, the Sisters of St. Francis’ Sister Water Project Committee has created a 2020 Sister Water Project Summer Calendar.

The focus of the calendar is to create awareness of and provide education on water issues while raising funds for the Sister Water Project, which is the Dubuque Franciscans’ initiative to help provide sustainable water accessibility to people in Honduras and Tanzania. The calendar begins on Memorial Day and ends on Independence Day, and provides information on the Sister Water Project and offers fun and thought provoking challenges for individuals to collect donations. The calendar is free and can be downloaded from our Sister Water Project website at http://www.osfdbq.org/sister-water-project-main/summer-2020-swp-calendar/.

We invite everyone to use this calendar as it’s an important reminder of how clean water is essential in the fight against the coronavirus,” said Sister Kathy Knipper. “Many of the villagers in Honduras and Tanzania where our Sister Water Projects are installed do not have the funds to purchase hand sanitizers. Clean water to wash their hands is vital to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.”
