The Dubuque Franciscans are intentional about spreading the Franciscan story and spirit to all. Our 158 Franciscan Way of Life participants are part of a two-year process that provides a deeper understanding of Franciscan values with monthly meetings beginning in September every year.

The Franciscan Way of Life program is available to men and women of all faiths who want to learn more about Franciscan values based on the Gospels and how to incorporate those values into daily life.

In the first year, participants learn about the stories of Saints Francis and Clare, medieval Italy, as well as the Franciscan values of conversion, poverty, and contemplation. In the second year, the focus of the course is on the integrity of creation, peacemaking, the development of the Franciscan community, and the history of the Dubuque Franciscans.

Franciscan Way of Life sessions are currently offered in Iowa in Ames, Dubuque, Iowa City, Sioux City, Stacyville, and Waterloo; Waseca, Minnesota; Chicago, Illinois; and an on-line group.  New sites are added as needed.
